About:  Giovanni Gabrieli’s brass works have a special place in my ear, with their lush sonorities and free imitation. My homage to him is in one movement with three sections: the first section introduces a repeating harmonic structure in the tuba, then weaves it through other instruments. A middle section is quicker, with playful dancing rhythms. The passacaglia then returns for a final triumphant ending.
